Tom Brady Leaves Aaron Rodgers Out of His Top 5 NFL QBs

Hosted by none other than Stephen A. Smith, Tom Brady created a stir during the “True Grit” panel during Fanaticsfest when he apparently turned away Aaron Rodgers not once, but twice, while talking about the NFL’s best quarterbacks, generating whispers and raised eyebrows among fans and analysts.

Smith pushed Brady for his interpretation of the creme de la creme of quarterbacks, past and present as the discussion got hot. Though glaringly excluding Rodgers’ name, the great QB did not hold back and nodded to giants such Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, Joe Montana, and Steve Young.

Brady later rumbled off Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow, apparently skipping a fifth contender from his lineup when tested on his current top 5 QBs. Ever the keen observer, Smith noticed Rodgers’s absence and added, “Imma throw Aaron Rodgers in there,” mirroring the audience’s cries for the Jets’ newest star to be acknowledged.

Brady, spotting the error, swiftly corrected his stance and said, “I’m really interested in how Rodgers would do in the following season with the New York Jets: “I’m very interested to watch Aaron come back and perform this year,” he said.

Speaking in favor of his teammate quarterback, Rodgers, Brady has highlighted his commitment to the game. “You know, he is quite devoted to be a great quarterback. Brady stated, “A year off would be highly motivating for him to do.”

Again, though, that’s why they go play. “At the end of the day, it’s going to be up to them to go out there and prove to us right or wrong, whether our decisions or hypotheses about them are right.”
